An eFolio is the 21^st Century electronic version of a portfolio or scrapbook. We, at Saint Paul College, utilize this electronic format to highlight students’ academic accomplishments while at our college. It is developed within this formatted site of computer mediated communications, created expressly for students and workers in the state of Minnesota. Developed and provided by the Minnesota State College and University System, it is an opportunity to create individual presentation platforms using the formatted pages and designs offered.

     There are two major projects students are asked to complete using this eFolio format. The first project is a Group Research project which satisfies a required course competency of demonstrating the ability to organize and deliver presentations in groups by utilizing the eFolio format.  Students are placed in  groups where they conduct and submit a human communication research project developed through group communication and efforts.

     The second project is referred to as a Capstone Term Project. The dictionary defines capstone as ‘the crowning stroke or culmination.’  It is the sum total of what students consider to be the most important elements of knowledge they have assimilated as a result of their course of study. It is a project which begins its development during the first few weeks of the term and becomes available for all to view towards the end of the term. This final project should showcase the important pieces of knowledge students have acquired during their course of study and an analysis of what they consider to be the most important effects of human communication theory and practice within our 21st Century society. 

     The two subsections found in the menu of this site (Group Research Project and Capstone) offer an opportunity to review completed projects submitted by students in fulfillment of these assignments.
